Cookies are small text files placed on your computer or smartphone by a website you visit, which make it possible to save data about your Internet habits. They may contain a unique number assigned to you, enabling your browser to be recognized, without, however, being able to establish your identity.
Therefore, they help sites remember certain data about your visit, to make subsequent visits easier, more pleasant, and more user-friendly.
Stored data is encrypted using the latest encryption standards. That said, we can only access this data when QMJHL employees identify themselves using a username and password, reinforced by double authentication (2FA) to ensure that the user is indeed who they claim to be. However, even if we take every reasonable precaution to ensure that user data is secure and that users are protected, there is always a risk of damage. The Internet as a whole can be, at times, unsafe and therefore we are unable to guarantee the security of user data beyond what is reasonably practical.
The QMJHL undertakes to destroy personal information once the purpose for which it was collected has been fulfilled, or to make it anonymous in order to use it for serious and legitimate purposes, subject to the conditions and retention period provided for by law.
Our website may contain options for sharing, publishing or linking to third-party websites or platforms. By using or activating them, you leave our website and your browsing becomes subject to their terms of use and privacy policy. We have no control over these third-party websites and platforms, and the fact that they are listed on our website does not engage our responsibility in any way.
The QMJHL reserves the right to modify the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy at any time to comply with the law and to reflect any changes to our data collection process. Unless otherwise specified, our current privacy policy applies to all the information we have about you. Also, we will never significantly change our policies and practices to make them less protective of information collected in the past. Lastly, we recommend that our users check our policy from time to time to ensure that they are aware of any updates.
In accordance with current legislation, you have the right to inspect, access, rectify and request the deletion of your personal data. You also have the right to object to the processing of your personal data and to restrict its use where applicable. However, the QMJHL reserves the right to use data for legitimate and justifiable reasons.
