Furthermore, Mathieu Melanson has been solid. He has twenty-one goals, including thirteen with the man advantage. On the blue line, Marc-Edouard Vlasic has been stellar, scoring two game-winning goals and is a healthy +12 (plus/minus). He leads all League defensemen in scoring with twenty-four points.

Cédrick Desjardins has started every playoff game, registering twelve wins, a 2.48 goals-against-average and a .930 save percentage.

Of note :

Yan Ouimet was a member of the Wildcats team which lost in the 2004 final to the Gatineau Olympiques.

Cédrick Desjardins and Michal Sersen won the President Cup Trophy last year with the Rimouski Océanic. Conversely, Kenzie Sheppard was on the losing end of that series, as he was a member of the Halifax Mooseheads organization.

Quebec City will be hosting its first President Cup game since 1977. The Beauport Harfangs team, which later moved to Quebec City and became the new Remparts, lost in the 1996 final to Granby.

Martins Karsums, Christian Gaudet and Joshua Hepditch were members of the Wildcats team which lost the final in 2004.

Head Coach Ted Nolan participated in three consecutive Memorial Cup Tournaments in the early 90’s with the Sault-Ste-Marie Greyhounds, winning it all in 1993.
